Web Design : Actor Jamie Harris

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

Website : actor Jamie HarrisA new showcase website for the familiar British film/TV actor Jamie Harris, who has been seen on the big screen alongside Colin Farrell, Jim Carrey, Daniel Day Lewis, Christian Bale, and many others. He’s one of those people you recognize easily though you might not know his name, and he divides his time between England and Venice, CA.  That may change soon, since he’s increasingly being called in for leading roles here in the US;  this site is intended to show a collection of material showcasing his lead work.

The site utilizes a deliberately neutral, understated modern backdrop to let the variety of video and photo material stand out without competing with the design.  The video player features a media list with screen shots from each of 26 clips, which can be selected and playing almost instantly.  In addition, the player auto-detects the connection speed of the viewer and delivers a stream that maximizes it.  A double click on the player window allows the clips to be viewed at an impressive full screen size.

The gallery page opens his photos over the gallery screen in a pseudo pop up that shows off each shot to best advantage.  A contact form on the contact page protects his personal email address from well meaning but over-zealous fans.

Easy to navigate and straight to the point.
