Even in this age of high speed electronic communication, nothing beats the power of beautifully printed text and images. Sadly, good print design based on traditional principles is becoming something of a lost art.
Our design sensibility is rooted in core design rules, but also steeped in a rich brew of influences including living and studying in major cities all over the world, spending thousands of hours in museums, touring in indie rock bands, and sketching and photographing all along the way. This, combined with a decade creating promotional materials for large corporations, offers you a unique design voice based in dollars and cents reality.
Today's printing is all about making every page count. This doesn't mean cramming your message into the smallest possible area; it means making sure every element, even blank space, works towards your message. We choose fonts, color, images, and stock with great care to assure the most powerful presentation of your material.
We'll escort you through every step of the design and production process, from early conception, to writing, to imagery, to color scheme, to design proofs... all the way through to production.
From hand-operated letterpress to high volume 4-color process printing, we've got your back.

A full page print ad for AutoSuccess Magazine, describing a uniquely successful auto dealer technology program for online reputation management.
They are advertising a product intended to tame all the time-consuming and intimidating aspects of managing a dealership’s online reputation, which is a form of word-of-mouth. A conversational direction quickly emerged for the creative, and we went with conversation bubbles as the headline, attesting to the strong viral momentum that has been a big part of this company’s success. The text and bubbles sit on a graduated blue background with the company mascot and recent awards shown with the logo at bottom. As such, the ad leads with customer delight, follows up with ROI-oriented product copy, and finishes with company accolades and title.
Some dealers report generating over 1000 positive, actual customer reviews on places like Yelp and seeing new sizable inbound lead activity driven from ratings sites and social media properties. This company’s reputation precedes them now and makes the sales process easier, showing what is possible also for their clients.
The call to action is a live demo with the Sales Director, whose actual contact information is shown. The 866 number is tracked to this publication to verify ad results independently from publisher.

A classic Z-Card for a young clothing model seeking representation, in the 8.5″ x 5.5″ size that is typical for casting agents. Photographs taken in Hancock Park area of Los Angeles.
For young kids, it is generally best to have them appear as youthful as possible — these portraits give a mixture of style from dressed up to sporty and show great versatility.
Highly recommended for catalogs and commercial work.

A new 11×17 reusable gig poster for apocalyptic Los Angeles Christian band Jesus Band Los Angeles, which uses imagery from our recent album project for “1:1.” In addition to the usual white space left for writing in the latest gig info, there’s a short promo blurb for their new record and a link to the website.

An artist bio onesheet for Los Angeles-based drummer and singer songwriter Tommy Rickard, aimed for review pitching and radio promo. This is made grayscale for quicker emailing, with a white border so it will print properly on a home printer. It is also easily editable by the artist, saving some money down the road.
Included on the sidebar are the elements most reviewers will need at a glance, including record release date, track name listing, and full contact info, plus a picture of the album and its barcode for easy reference (it is easy for the onesheet to get separated from the album itself on a busy reviewer’s desk).

A four panel digipak design for Americana rocker Tommy Rickard’s debut full-length “Dream California.” Tommy has been a close friend and collaborator for many years both in Los Angeles and his native San Francisco, so it is a great pleasure to be involved with this carefully crafted record, which features the title track “Dream California.”
Tommy’s skills on the drum set have taken him to stages all over the world and into the studios of legends like Linda Perry. Now he is stepping out on his own with his own work, including one song written by Perry.
The album artwork features a dreamy California poppy field on the cover with an inset poppy field window. The album title and his name are humbly set above and below the window in a relaxed script font. The reverse simply lists the song tites, leaving an uncluttered, calm feel.
Inside is a great picture of Tommy by photographer Scott Kowalchyk and full credits for the record under the cd. The cd face echoes the cover design, with faded flowers and floral writing around the edges.
So many debut artists stumble on their art, trying too hard to impress, but Tommy shows the wisdom of many years in the business with this beautiful, straightforward design that lets his awesome tracks lead the charge.

The first in a series of quick glance case studies documenting some very effective SEO and online reputation work by an auto dealer-oriented SEO provider. Auto dealers don’t have patience for long discourses on strategy and results; they want cogent facts and information that allow them to make well informed decisions quickly.
A set of powerful charts runs down the right side, just below an enthusiastic dealership quote, showing quickly how well this strategy has succeeded. Summary graphs at bottom give exact details on ROI. Short descriptions of each stage of the dealer’s strategy lead to the conclusion paragraph at bottom.
This sheet is fitted with margins allowing it to be printed comfortably on any home or office printer without clipping or resizing, or it can be emailed for easy review online.
